The role of the School Site Council (SSC) is to work together with the C.L. Smith Leadership Team in developing and monitoring the School Improvement Plan.  The SSC ihas 14 members: the principal, four teachers, one classified employee, and seven parent/community members.  Except for the principal and Title I teacher, their respective constituencies elect members.  Each member serves a two year term.
